Holy Nasty Ear Wax!!

So the last two days have been spent running to appointments. Ok, not running, I still can't do that, but driving. Grin. Monday was Tanner's turn. He needed to have his ear irrigated. Wax the size of a of a pea was flushed out of it. Eeuuuwww. He was happy he could hear better. Today was Sawyer's turn. The Doctor looked in hes right ear. Wax. Got the do-hickey thingy that digs the wax out and she goes to work. She got about the size of a pebble out. Next ear please! She said his left ear is so compacted with wax that she can't see his eardrum. Gross. She starts to dig on that side. She gets a pea size out of that ear as well and takes another look. Still can't see the eardrum so she says she needs to irrigate that ear. Sawyer sat very bravely with his eyes close and counted to 20 every time the nurse squirted water into his ear. Ten minutes later you can see floaters in the irrigated water. Chad & I gagged. The Doctor takes another look, still nothing. She gives us some ear drops (pretty sure we have like 3 bottles of these at home) and a referral to an ENT. Thank the maker!! After school, Sawyer & I are sitting there playing with his Bakugans and he sticks his finger in his left ear and pulls out some more wax. I take a flashlight and have a look. There is so much wax threatening to burst out of his ear that I grab my digging thingy and go to work. A lima bean size later, we stop. I am so grossed out by this time that I can't help but stare at the tissue with all the wax on it. Is there a Word Record for ear wax? If so, I am pretty sure we just broke it and then some. The saddest part is that there is still a TON of wax in his ear. Thank heaven we have an appointment with the ENT on Friday and hopefully those dang ear drops will eat through some of the remaining yuckiness. Keep your fingers crossed. He has been having trouble hearing lately, I am just hoping it was all that dang wax!!
