Puddle Park........

I know, two posts in one day...egads!! For some reason that makes no sense whatsoever, I feel like I need to get as many posts in before my surgery. Don't worry, this is my last one. I took the kids to the puddle park today. They had a blast. I thought they would get bored after about 20 minutes, but they proved me wrong & were protesting when it was time to leave. The best part about this park is it's free. Here are a couple of snapshots........

All I can say is "Fire in the hole!!"

My last Pack Meeting........

Most people know that I have been the Cub Master for Scouts for the past 8 months. I will be getting released from that due to my foot & moving to Japan issues. I have to say that I have really enjoyed working with the boys. They are awesome & up for anything. Last night was my last shindig. We had a water themed one. My other leaders did a balloon toss & a relay where you had teams & each team had a sponge, some water, a glass 7 a ping pong ball. Each person had to get their sponge wet, run down to the glass squeeze the water in the glass & the first one to make their ping pong ball fall out of the glass was declared the winner. (Oh yeah, the ppball was in the glass ; p) I did an obstacle course. The catch with this is that I had the leaders & the parents lined up on either side of the course armed with sponges, super soakers, water balloons & cups with buckets of water at the ready. Needless to say, the boys got very wet. Here are some pictures of the night. Enjoy...
When the Weeblos finish all their requirement, they get "tested" to see if they are ready to move up to 11 year old scouts. We burn a neckerchief to see if the pass. If it burns itself out, you get to move on. This was Tanner's. If you look up in the right hand corner you can see the flames. He passed!!
My Weeblos

Chad did not go easy on Sawyer. Doi!!

My blury boys. I loved this pix though

Tanner & his friend trying to get Chad after the obstacle course was over. They ended up getting him pretty good. Way to go guys!!

Robin Hood, Friar Tucks & Maid Marion........

Some friends of ours invited us to play Robin Hood today. It was s blast. We went to the indoor Archery Range here on base & shot at targets for a couple of hours. Who knew it was so much fun?? I think I might be addicted. Seriously. The boys thought it was the coolest thing ever. OK, we did too! There were a couple of balloons for targets as well as a rabbit & an actual target.

Friar Sawyer

Friar Tanner

Sir Robin Hood

Maid Marion.

Our lovely targets. The poor rabbit was decimated by the time we got though with him. I hit him square in the eye, Tanner hit him right in the face & Chad got him in the gut a bunch. Poor thing!!

Zoom Zoom.....

The boys went to race the go carts this weekend. I would still be sitting in one had I attempted to get in one with my robot foot. That would be a no go for moi!! But I did have fun watching (really, I did) them race around the track. I kept having flashes of accidents and fires and explosions and stuff, he he, but they came out unscathed!!

Tanman looking super cool.

Chad & Soyboy in their super cool double decker!

Ok, this was the highlight of the evening. Tanner was trying to pass the almighty Chad. Well, he got clipped & ended up going the opposite direction, stuck underneath the rail. The worker dude had to get a jack & a hammer to help him out. It was pretty funny.

Ahhh, the freedom of it all!!

Our trip to the Fair in pictures.... (there are quite a few)

Today was military appreciation day at the State Fair. Of course we had to go. The rides were free from 1-3. We had a blast out in the heat and were a little sad this will be our last fair here. Here are some highlights from the day....

Tanner, Christian, Haley & Sawyer posing before heading up the rope ladder and across a bridge to find the slid that leads out of the obstacle course.
Sawyer on the Super Slide.

Tanner & Christian racing.

Sawyer & Haley sitting in the Ferris Wheel.

A view of the Fair from the Ferris Wheel. I know, aren't you proud of me, I actually went on this? I kept telling Sawyer to stop moving but I found my happy place and lived to tell about it. I am a wimp, what can I say.

Sawyer coming down the slide of the Star Wars fun house.

Help help I'm being repressed.

This is a ride Tanner & I went on. Look very closely, because we are spinning while we are completely upside down. I was looking for Ray Finkle and a clean pair of shorts after this one.

I thought he was going to hit himself on the back the way he was swinging the hammer.

Tanner got up to 119 on the scale.

The fruits of their labor!!

Camping, well sort of.....

We were supossed to go camping at Strawberry Lake this weekend, but the weather was not cooperating. We had 35 mile an hour winds with bursts of rain. Not ideal weather for camping. So instead of waking up in the Land of Oz due to the high winds, we played it safe and camped in our friends Derek & Brooke's backyard. Ok, we tried that too. Did I mention the high winds?? We got the tent up and as soon as we did all 4 adults and all 5 kids had to jump on it to keep it from flying away. We took it down and went with plan B. We made an indoor tent for the kids and the adults slept in beds. We did get to do smores and play Norwegian Hose shoes though. It was a blast and I think one of our better camping trips. Enjoy the pix!!

Sawyer did a fabulous job hammering in the tent stake

Chad & I played Derek & Brooke at Norwegian Hose shoes. I would like to say that we won, but they did. I blame it on the wind. Grin.

Tanner & Katelyn were awesome.

Tanner saving Gideon from getting hit in the head with the balls. Gideon LOVES balls.

The kiddos making smores. You can't see it, but Sawyer's mallows are huge and totally burned!

Yummy. I have no idea how marshmallow got on his arm. Leave it to Soyboy!

Tanner being Tanner!! I love him!

Cheers for Smores!!

Our awesome fire.

Le Tent. I forgot to mention that Sawyer honked in the tent so the kids ended up in what they called the "Cave" for the rest of the night. What is camping without vomit??

Five happy kids!

You May Now Move Up To Level 3!!!

Sawyer has been in level 2 swim lessons for the past 2 weeks. He has had a blast and has turned into quite the fish. No, not literally, but he caught on fast! He past the "test" to move up to level 3 and was not happy about it. I'm pretty sure he has a crush on his teacher Kayleigh. No surprise there, if you know my son. I told him his friend Alec was is level 3 and suddenly Kayleigh was a thing of the past. At least he can be distracted at the ripe old age of 6. I think we are in for some girl trouble with this one. Here are some pictures from the momentous training!!
At the end of the last two lessons, they let the kids go down the water slide they have at the base pool. Can I just say how happy I am that I don't have to stand (not that I could this year!) at the bottom of the slide for 30minutes at a time to catch him this year!! Freedom!!

Sawyer doing his tummy float. This is his favorite thing to do, and can do it forever!!

Kaleigh giving instructions. Sawyer is the first one in line on the left!!

Mr. Man!!

Swimming & Friends

Yesterday, the Castle's came over for a swim party. Sawyer could not go down the slide the same time twice in a row and I have pictures to prove it. It was so much fun catching up with Rochelle while the kids got very tired!! Grin.

Geronimo!!

Look ma, no brain!!

Bombs away....

The best of friends!!

Meggers.....

This is a picture of my sister's girls hugging.

This is just a little post about my niece Megan. She cracks me up. I love all my nieces, I just happen to have more pictures of Megan this go 'round. She has this voice when she is not getting her way or you just aren't listening hard enough that basically is a growl. When she uses this voice, all you can do is laugh cos it is so dang cute which then is followed by more growling. She is the cutest thing ever and I just had to share some pictures!! She calls me Lala and I love it!! Let the show begin.....

She loves the bath and posed just for me!!

We were watching her dad play Norwegian Horseshoes

She is singing "I told you so" by Carrie Underwood to me

This is how I know we are related. She had to wear, try on and steal everyone else's shoes. She is one of the bright spots in my life a long with Alyssa, Heidi, Hayden & Taylor. I am the luckiest Aunt in the world!! I love you girls!!
