We were supossed to go camping at Strawberry Lake this weekend, but the weather was not cooperating. We had 35 mile an hour winds with bursts of rain. Not ideal weather for camping. So instead of waking up in the Land of Oz due to the high winds, we played it safe and camped in our friends Derek & Brooke's backyard. Ok, we tried that too. Did I mention the high winds?? We got the tent up and as soon as we did all 4 adults and all 5 kids had to jump on it to keep it from flying away. We took it down and went with plan B. We made an indoor tent for the kids and the adults slept in beds. We did get to do smores and play Norwegian Hose shoes though. It was a blast and I think one of our better camping trips. Enjoy the pix!!
Chad & I played Derek & Brooke at Norwegian Hose shoes. I would like to say that we won, but they did. I blame it on the wind. Grin.
Tanner & Katelyn were awesome.
Tanner saving Gideon from getting hit in the head with the balls. Gideon LOVES balls.
Yummy. I have no idea how marshmallow got on his arm. Leave it to Soyboy!
Tanner being Tanner!! I love him!
Cheers for Smores!!Our awesome fire.

Great pics, Allie!! You are so on top of things. I haven't even looked at mine yet, but just looking at yours makes me laugh about the whole situation all over again!!! We had a blast!
Way to adapt and still have a great time!! I'm impressed! It looks like you had a great time!! The boys have grown so much!! They look so handsome.
Way to salvage a camping trip. I would totally be all, alright trip off, we are renting movies and you are going to bed at a reasonable time. The kids would have much more fun doing your way.
I'm sorry your boy honked in the tent, that couldn't have been fun to clean up.
You guys are awesome! I'm with Cristtin in that I probably would've called it off. How creative and nice of you to still do it!
Looks like a great time! Its friendships like this that we always miss with this whole "orders" thing! I guess you guys will just have to stay here!
What a great camping trip! Bryce and I were talking this morning about camping. We were frying bacon and eggs on our gas stove with all the windows wide open, and the smell of the mountain drifting in. Since we're so alone up here, it feels like we're out in the woods. I personally love my own bed!
You guys looked like you had a lot of fun and made the best of what you had.
That is awesome!! Growing up we liked to camp all year long. And parents never owned a vehicle that they couldn't sleep in, just for situations like this. Anyway, its having fun that is important!
